A couple of years after becoming a mother, Yvonne founded Mothers in Balance® in order to help other mothers in a variety of areas. She developed several courses including:
Rediscovering Yourself in the Midst of Motherhood® – a course and support group combined to help mothers reconnect with their own sense of identity outside of motherhood.
Crayons to Careers® – a class for mothers re-entering the workforce.
Personality Type and Mothering Styles – a class that uses the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator to help mothers understand how their peronal strengths and weaknesses affect their style of mothering, and to realize that there is no “perfect” mother.
Nurturing the Couple Relationship While Raising Children – a class that helps mothers and fathers keep the couple relationship intact while being parents.
At the start of every new year, she also organizes Treasure-Mapping socials in which mothers create collages to visualize what they want and need in the coming year.
If you can get a group of at least 4 interested mothers together and find a day and time that works for all of you (and me, of course) I may be able to come to your East Bay location. Let me know what class you’re interested in, and we’ll try to find a way to make it happen. Contact me for pricing and details.
In addition to her groups and courses, Yvonne offers individual career coaching for mothers. She helps stay-at-home moms who want to re-enter the work force and working mothers who want to make a job or career change. For the stay-at-home mom who has been so immersed in child-rearing that she has lost her own sense of identify, Yvonne offers coaching on life balance and self-nurturing.
Yvonne has been featured on parenting websites, and has written articles for newspapers and other publications. She is a guest speaker at mothers’ clubs, schools and community organizations around the Bay Area.
